Rediscovering the lost village of Greasley
Location: City of Nottingham

This project brought together different sectors of the community including local people, school groups and community groups from the surrounding area. With the support of expert advice and assistance from Groundwork Greater Nottingham and Trent & Peak Associates they have investigated, through detailed desk research and field investigations, the exact location of the lost village of greasley and what it would have looked like.

Using the information found, a range of interpretation material was produced including:
  • a website/CD ROM of the area,
  • oral history recordings,
  • an educational pack,
  • guided walks and field walks
  • a parish map illustrating how the village would have looked in its hay-day
