Location: Derbyshire
The project brought together ten "Out of School" clubs in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire to enable children to work with their communities to learn about, and record the history, customs and traditions of those communities.
The project resulted in a range of outcomes, which were dependant on the preferences of the children involved. However, all individual groups worked under the guidance of the Network coordinators and their own supervisors within the local people.
This project enhanced the regeneration of this area of Derbyshire by engaging children and their communities in positive investigation of their heritage. Furthermore, by encouraging the exchange of skills and knowledge, the project built on local pride and understanding.
