Trains & Trails Community Play (Phase II)
Location: Derbyshire
Phase one of the project involved the production of a book, exhibition, audio tape/CD and CD ROM capturing the social history and memories of any people, mostly local, connected to the High Peak and Buxton Railway Lines which closed in the 1960’s. An LHI grant of £17,881 was awarded in July 2001.
The Phase II project is involved the writing, production, performance and publishing of a community play based on the Trains and Trails book. The group worked with the Rowsley Association, a local school, the Wirksworth Glee Club and Theatre Wirksworth local amateur dramatic groups.
250 copies of the play were produced and available free of charge through the County Council Library service.
