Walton Wonderings
Location: Derbyshire

There is a rich heritage to Walton on Trent which stretches back to the Stone Age. In this project the local Primary School were involved in an oral history project to record the memories of the older residents of the village.

The results were used as a basis for articles in the Parish Magazine and an exhibition. The project was launched by a history procession and the first phase was completed by a celebration event.

This phase of the project also involved derbyshire Wildlife Trust in supporting the school to formulate a plan to manage an existing nature area and Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) adjacent to the school which is owned by them.
