Project Description

Background Context

Woodville Heritage Project
Location: Derbyshire

The Parish Council created a formal Garden of Remembrance which included a re-sited war memorial.

An important part of the garden is the "heritage area" which reflects the rich industrial history of Woodville.

As part of the LHI project, the group produced a book on the general history of Woodville which included a section documenting family histories attached to the war memorial. The group also undertook research and installed several interpretation boards containing information on the industrial heritage of Woodville. Finally, they installated a "heritage" mosaic designed by local school children.
