A Community at War - 60 Years On
Location: Leicestershire

This project researched and collected information about Castle Donington during the second World War. This research culminated in an exhibition in 2005. A loose-leaf book was produced for use by schools and members of the group to take out to the local community when giving talks.

A leaflet was also produced which complimented the exhibition and also advertised it in the surrounding area.

The project involved the collection of reminiscences from the local community, which were used in the exhibition.

The reminiscences were transcribed and extracts of them were included in the book. Training was provided to those who wished to be involved in this aspect of the project. The school also got involved in collecting reminiscences from their relatives.

Local newsletters, posters and mail shots advertised the project to local people.
