Centenary Book
A book entitled "The Palace on the Hill" is being written by Dr Hugh MacKay, a retired Consultant Pathologist from Leicester General Hospital. Dr MacKay has been undertaking extensive research over the past few months into the the heritage and historical background of the hospital, starting in 1903 when the first stone for the new hospital was laid, all the way through two world wars, the formation of the NHS in 1948 through to the present day. The "related document" below gives a brief outline of what will be contained in the final edition. It is hoped that the book will be ready for publication by the end of 2005.
