The aim of this project was to create a "sanctuary garden" in the Baptist Churchyard at Ladygate, Diseworth. The church closed its doors after flooding in 2000.
The project involved the restoration of an ancient boundary wall, with training for volunteers in its future maintenance and production of a management plan & information leaflet to inform and assist volunteers in the maintenance of the wildlife.
Local schoolchildren were involved with minibeast projects and in making bird and bat boxes with the help of BTCV.
Many visitors joined Diseworth villagers in Diseworth Village Hall for the launch of a small book on the history of the Baptist Church and its members from the inception of the site of the church and to celebrate the success of the project.
