Dunton Bassett - A History
Location: Leicestershire

The objective of this project was to produce a book on the village history of Dunton Bassett. The book was centred on a village walk.

The project will concentrated particularly on the social and architectural history of the village. A Village Walk was devised to support the text and included in the book.

This was further supported by the publication of a one page walking guide which was freely distributed within the Parish, local libraries, museum and tourist information.

This project was the result of local interest shown at a village history display in August 2002. In November 2003 a public meeting was held by the Group at which it was agreed to proceed with the book.

A further public meeting was held to establish two sub-groups – book editorial and walk planning.
