Oral History as a Resource
In a world that is changing rapidly it is important to record people’s memories of the past. An elderly person may have 70 or 80 years of recall, but may also remember stories told by their parents or grandparents, giving a source of information over at least a century.
But the Pickworth Project is not only about the past. We are concerned with continuity and change, and we hope to include some younger people’s perceptions of village life today - the present is the future’s history.
