South Witham Archaeological Group
Location: Lincolnshire

South Witham is an ancient village which was once the site of a Knights Templar Preceptory. The local archaeological group is intending to research the history of the village and record the memories of local residents.

The group is proposing a comprehensive project that focuses mainly on the 19th and 20th century residents and the development of the village.

The group wants to:

  • produce a book that will be distributed free to every house in the village;
  • compile a children's history CD ROM;
  • carry out an oral history project;
  • hold an exhibition;
  • arrange 12 talks on local history.
