The Willoughby Village History Group
Location: Lincolnshire
Willoughby village, population around 400 situated on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, has historic connections with the Willoughby family, Lords Great Chamberlain of England & with Capt John Smith (Pocohontis). This project involved the community, including the local primary school, in research, recording of historical data & compilation of a village book.
The project resulted in renewed contacts between village people past and present, increased IT skills and an ongoing interest in local history and archaeology.
