Wall Restoration Project - Phase 2
Location: Lincolnshire

Tealby is sited on the western edge of the Wolds, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A Phase I LHI grant of £14,171 was awarded to restore 200yr old traditional stone walls around the churchyard.

Local volunteers have rebuilt 100 metres of the wall working under the guidance of specialists including ecologists, building conservationists and a civil engineer. Informal and formal training was provided to help the group appreciate traditional building techniques and the natural heritage value of the wall.

Phase II will build on Phase I by providing interpretation material relating to the wall and the church and completing the restoration of one section of wall. This will include an interpretation board, a leaflet and a booklet. The booklet will give an account of the village heritage and describe the part the local community is playing in perpetuating it.

The leaflets will summarise the booklet. The village has a website and it is anticipated that parts of the leaflet will be displayed on it. A village magazine will keep people up to date with progress on the project. The aims of the project are aimed to reflect the Lincolnshire Wolds Interpretation Strategy
