Coddington Village Trail Project
Location: Nottinghamshire

Coddington History Group was formed in July 2003 and this was our first project - to research and print a heritage trail.

The grant was of immeasurable help to a new group since we would otherwise have had little or no equipment or resources.

We used the grant to purchase research material such as large scale historic OS maps, census returns and aerial photos, also equipment such as a pc, scanner, laminator to help produce material to furnish the newly purchased display stands. The digital camera has been invaluable for recording the present village which, in common with many villages, continues to change.

Local Community Involvement / Partnerships:
We have been busy with oral history recording using the recording equipment purchased.
The Heritage Trail leaflet has been really well received both by the villagers and other history groups etc. We found that that Tourist Information centre is particularly grateful for it as they are often asked for such items.
See our website www.coddington.org.uk where the trail leaflet is displayed.
