The History of Settlement in Bingham
Location: Nottinghamshire

This project aims to research the pattern of settlement & land use in the parish of Bingham since the Late Palaeolithic. Information about this can be obtained from a combination of fieldwork & archival research. The group will attempt to construct a conjectural map of Bingham from a written account of a survey carried out in 1586 and a map of the parish from the Earl of Chesterfield’s Survey Book of 1776.
