Discovering the Flit Valley
Location: Bedfordshire
The Flit Valley is an area rich in wildlife habitats and historic features. The aims of the project are to work with local organisations, volunteers and communities to gather information & investigate the natural, archaeological, industrial and cultural heritage of the area.
The group will: arrange training courses on heritage themes; carry out public consultations in order to identify local priorities; encourage local people to survey their local heritage and to produce locally-relevant management plans for sites and parishes which can be integrated into the Mid Beds Community Plan.
They will also encourage and train them to undertake practical conservation and restoration work. Results of surveys and consultations will be disseminated in the form of leaflets, newsletters and interpretation boards.
