The Causeway
Location: Bedfordshire

Gannock Castle is surrounded by a moat. This is full of water for most of the year and never completely dry. The sections that do dry out are very steep and difficult to traverse thus restricting access.

The Causeway was built to allow greater access to the castle site for people of all ages and abilities.

It looks and is very solid, but actually sits on top of the ground. It is not dug into the site, so it can be removed at any time in the future without leaving any damage behind.
