Eatons People & Places Phase 2
Location: Cambridgeshire

This is the second phase of the Eatons Community Association project. This phase aims to continue the research started in Phase I into the local heritage of the area by involving the local community.

Proposed activities include:
  • investigating and explaining the local heritage;
  • raising the local community’s awareness and understanding of the local history and its impact on the present day environment by holding exhibitions and by involving the local community in the research process;
  • creating a historical record of the area and its development in the last 200 years;
  • producing census information cross-referencing people with surviving buildings;
  • providing greater access to historical records.
The group also intends to record and disseminate the information gathered in different ways such as booklets, information boards and plaques, leaflets, teaching packs on specific buildings, a historical trail, the group’s existing website and on CD’s
