At the start of the project the area has to be cleared
Digging the area
Laying the foundations of the cart shed
The wooden structure that will create the frame of the shed.
Loads of people help to haul the massive structure up
Laying the brickwork out to build the walls of the shed
A well deserved break!
....and whats to show after all that work

Little Downham Cartshed & Interpretation Project
Location: Cambridgeshire

Phase 1 of the project is the restoration of a locally distinctive old cartshed building adjacent to the public rights of way network, and within the boundary of a parish-owned open space.

Some of the building work (restoring the oak timber frame of the building) is being completed by a local centre for adults with learning difficulties.

Phase 2 of the project will be to use the building for displaying local heritage interpretative material including old fenland agricultural implements and natural environment data from local survey work.
