Milton Millennium Photo Book
Location: Cambridgeshire

The idea for the project came from a local couple who formed a group of amateur photographers in early 2000. This is a 2 phase project.

Phase 1 involves creating a book of photographs. The book includes at least one picture taken on every day of the year 2000. Captions to explain daily life in Milton throughout that year are being put in the book. The book is a historical document, with details concerning the local people and places shown in the photographs.

The project is recording, for the future, what Milton means to the local community. The project is also giving local people, especially newcomers, an insight into Milton.

Phase 2 consists of creating a video with interviews of local people telling the history of Milton, and creating cd roms for archiving the information gathered.

The group also have further ideas for the future including formation of a local history society, further research into the history of the village, and action to collect and conserve photos and artefacts which relate to it.
