Take a Walk
Location: Cambridgeshire

Sawtry is a large rural village, and includes several historic archaeological and wooded sites. The group aim to build on previous development of a series of guided walks to promote these heritage sites to local and surrounding communities. They will produce interpretation boards and leaflets to give information about walking routes and sites. Further detailed information will be held at the Parish council offices and the local library as well as village notice boards and web-site. [The finished leaflets are available to download here as PDF files].

The Local Archaeological Society are also involved in providing historical background and photographs. The project will be launched by a series of guided walks and the local school will also be involved. Advice has been given by the Countryside Services Manager of the District Council. Cambridgeshire County Council are also keen to promote the walks once established as a way of promoting “healthy walking”.
