A Century of Village Life in Pictures
Location: Essex

The aim of the project is to produce a book of photographs of village life, buildings, people and events in the village of St Osyth since 1900.

The group are the custodians of a village archive of documents, maps and photographs. They will select 80-100 photos for publication in the book, and will research them by interviewing older residents to find out who and what is depicted. Their aim is to encourage a greater interest in local history, both generally and through greater interest in and use of the village archives.

The book will be distributed free to contributors and to local schools, libraries, etc. Surplus copies will be sold and the proceeds used for further heritage projects in St Osyth.
