First Tesserae Laid
Location: Essex

On 1 November, at The Philip Morant School & College, the first tesserae were laid by Emily McGougan of The Philip Morant School & College; Joseph Wright of Gosbecks Primary School & Eddie Moolman, a local volunteer.

Guests included Anne Schwegmann-Fielding, a local mosaic artist; Philip Crummy of The Colchester Archaeological Trust; John Blatchly of the Heritage Lottery Fund; William Wall, East of England Regional Advisor for the LHI; David Burrage, Headmaster of Gosbecks School; Sue Cowans, headteacher of The Philip Morant School & College; Kevin Flower, Head of Art & Design at the Philip Morant School & College
