Epping Heritage Project
Location: Essex
This project consists of four main activities: setting up a web site of local heritage information which covers many heritage criteria; producing a book, or series of booklets, on specific heritage aspects of the area; producing an archive of local history information which is accessible by the community (location of the archive has yet to be decided); and finally, producing an education pack in conjunction with local schools, giving talks and organising exhibitions involving local people.The initial project meeting attracted over 100 local people, and many are being interviewed to contribute information to the archive.
