Great Baddow Oral History
Location: Essex
The project aims to increase the local community's awareness and access to local history. Great Baddow has no written history as such and the group intends to produce a book of oral histories and reminiscences which were recorded as part of a previous project.
This project has 4 objectives:- convert transcripts of oral reminiscences into readable chapters according to subjects
- print 1,000 copies of the book 'An Oral History of Great Baddow"
- distribute the book to the local community
- use the book in order to tell the local community and others about the life in Great Baddow in the 20th century
The group intends to learn the skills which will allow them to write and publish the book themselves. They also intend to carry out talks, slide shows and walks. Future projects will include writing another book.
