"Unlock!" Rochford's History
Location: Essex

Rochford District Council in partnership with two local history groups held a fun day - "Unlock! Rochford's History" - on Sunday 5th September to bring the heritage of Rochford Town to life. Key historical buildings in Rochford and the folklore and traditions surrounding them were interpreted in a heritage trail with banners created by local school children adorning the buildings. Many of the buildings were manned by volunteers and offered free tours.

The trail leaflet will be available after the event to encourage local people and visitors to the area to learn the rich heritage in Rochford.

A mosaic was created by visitors on the day showing two of the most important buildings in the area and this will be permanently displayed on the entrance to the Council offices in the centre of town.
