Weaver's Garden
Location: Essex

This project aims to create a garden to recognise and interpret the importance of the Courtauld family in and around Halstead and in particular the philanthropic contribution made by them in financing the local hospital and providing houses for mill workers.

The garden will feature a replica loom with plants as threads and bobbins, all designed and planted by volunteers, including children, with help and advice from experts. A leaflet explaining the garden and linking it to heritage sites within the town will be produced by the Halstead History Society.
