Exhibition and Study Room
Location: Hertfordshire

The project will create a digital archive of documents, photographs etc, relating to the history of Kimpton. Members of the group will be trained to interview older members of the community, collect their memories, store these recordings on CD and transcribe them to hard copy and (where permission has been given) make them available to the public locally, on a web site and via the County Record Office.

The group will also create a space for temporary exhibitions in the Parish Room and put on an exhibition for the village’s May festival in 2005, plus further exhibitions on topics arising from their oral history research. The group have plans for future phases of the project, including producing a book. They are working closely with the County Archivist, who supports this project.
