Horningtoft Heritage
Location: Norfolk

The project is seeking to encourage exploration of the history of a small village in Norfolk. The focal point is the restoration of the flint wall around the 12th century church of St Edmund, Horningtoft. The church is the hub of this tiny village, which has no shop, post office or village hall.

In conjunction with this, the history of the village is being further researched, including the connection with St Edmund. Older residents are being interviewed, for their reminiscences of life in the village in former times.

The results of this work is being presented in displays, an exhibition in the church, and on a web site. A "St Edmund" storytelling event is also being planned.

There is also a children's project, to build a model Saxon village, on the site of a Saxon settlement near the church, as well as exploring Saxon crafts such as pottery.
