We started our project with a trip to Grays Essex to discuss with a small local company how we wanted our tapes transcribed. It was decided it would be best to set them out in chapter form by subject. There are 10 in all. We also decided to have the tapes copied onto C/Ds to have a more permanent record for the future as this was thought to be a better way of storing them.

As and when these are completed will then be able to start on the editing our editing team is 10 strong at present, some of the 10 are going to find extra helpers to form small editing teams others will work solo. It is the aim to have all 10 subjects edited by the end of this year, they will then go onto a final edit ready for the book design.

In the mean time we are going to record the process of the project on video. we also are about to start collecting photos from various people in and around the parish who have any links. These will be used to illustrate the book and support the book launch. Fred Howard
