Weeting History Group
Location: Norfolk
The main aim of the project is to make the history of the parish available to the local community.
The group will research local and national archives and collect memories, photographs, etc. They will publish 10 booklets on various heritage themes, and also the manuscript of a "History of Weeting" by the Revd. F.V. Luke, written in 1852. All printed copies of this were destroyed in the recent Norwich Library Fire, but the original survived, and was microfilmed by the group using a previous A4A award.
The group particularly wish all local households to have a free copy of this book. Free copies of all publications will also be presented to the School, library and Record Office.
The group will also create CD versions of the books and a web site where details of all their publications and events will be widely available. Future plans include further publications, and an ultimate aim of creating a local museum for Weeting.
