Establishing the ISCA Dinghy collection
Location: Suffolk

The project aims to stimulate local interest in ISCA's collection of sailing dinghies, through restoration of Daring, a classic dinghy with strong local connections.

Regular newsletters will report on progress of the restoration, which will also be documented for a web site or CD-ROM. A booklet will be produced and freely distributed to local schools, sailing clubs, etc.

A key aim is to get as many classic vessels as possible onto the water to be sailed by local enthusiasts at special events.

The applicant will provide up to six teams of six classic dinghies for this purpose. Boat trailers will facilitate taking these vessels to local clubs and events. Those who do not or cannot sail the vessels will be able to see them in action in re-enactments of historic local sailing events on local waters.
