Woodbridge Quaker Burial Ground Project
Location: Suffolk

The group aim to encourage the use, restoration and conservation of the disused Quaker burial ground in Woodbridge. The site will provide a resource for the local community and local schools both as an area for quiet contemplation and for the study of wildlife in an urban setting. The boundary wall will be restored and the entrance gate improved for wheelchair users. Interpretation boards on the site and direction signs in the nearby town will provide an initial source of information and guide visitors to the site. There will also be an updateable notice board giving monthly wildlife and nature notes, as well as a detailed site wildlife record which will be kept at the Town Council office, local museum and library.

A booklet about the site and its history will be produced and distributed locally. A number of public events will be held as well as guided visits and lessons/lectures for local people and schools. Future maintenance of the site will be the responsibility of the Town Council, who presently hold a 30-year lease on the site.
