All 60 children and young people from the six participating schools worked together over the Easter holidays. This provided a very useful opportunity for all to share their ideas and learn more about each other’s individual themed walks. Both school staff and consultants ran a series of interactive workshops to further develop the design and content for the three trails. Performers re-enacted scenes from the past, exploring life at the Foundling Orphanage, which provided a real insight into what life was really like. The students also went on further visits to their individual trails.
Walkers from the Camden Older People’s Walking Group tested each trail and fed back in person to the students, as well as completing the comprehensive evaluation forms. The feedback was extremely animated and enthusiastic, and although many of the walkers were very knowledgeable about Camden, they found that they had seen and visited places unknown to them. They were all very impressed with the trails and congratulated the students on their hard work and research so far.
During the Summer Term, the schools will continue to work in pairs on their individual themes, supported by the consultants and the schools staff. Feedback so far from all the participants has been very positive
