River side walks [192 kb] pdf

The Opening Exhibition
Location: County of the City of London

This project aims to gather photographs, oral reminiscences and other information. The purpose of this is to demonstrate the historic importance of the River Thames in the formation of riverside settlements over the centuries. The Museum is run by volunteers and the project will be researched and set up by people from nine local amenity organisations.

Local groups will gather information and present their findings at a preliminary workshop. A class of children from the local primary school will explore the question "what I want to see in my Museum", and the outcome of this will be included for discussion at the workshop. Participation by other local people is welcome and this will be encouraged through the local press, leaflets and posters.

The results of this research will be presented to local people and the general public through an 18 month exhibition in the Museum. Other outputs, designed to 'project' the benefits of the scheme beyond the exhibition period will include leaflets, booklets, posters, school packs and mobile display boards.
