Brentham Centenary History Project
Location: Ealing

The project was built on research that had been carried out over the two preceding years. The Society produced a hard-backed book which documented the history of the Brentham Garden suburb since 1902.

The local community was involved in the work through fundraising in the form of buying shares, participating in oral histories by 30 elderly residents and by contributing materials.

In all, 300 local individuals, families and small businesses bought sponsorship shares in the "Brentham Centenary History Co-partnership Project". This raised raised £12,000.

The book was distributed free to all those who had contributed and HRH Prince of Wales submitted a foreword to the book.

On production of the book, the project carried out associated activities, such as an official launch, walks and lectures.
