Reclaim Edwardian Food and Architectural Heritage
Location: Lambeth

This project will explore and raise awareness of the Edwardian heritage of the Bonneville Primary School buildings, as well as local Edwardian plant varieties. Many of these plants were originally imported from countries overseas; countries from which many local people originated.

The scheme was initiated by the Friends Association of Bonneville, the local business community and Learning through Landscapes. Other organisations connected with the school such as Lambeth Music Service and the "Roots & Shoots" project, will involve a wide spectrum of the community - including both the elderly and young mothers.

Pupils of the school will research material on inter-cultural links of the Edwardian period in terms of plants, buildings and music, and the results of the research will be presented through a musical performance, multimedia presentations and pamphlets.

Other project outputs will include the restoration of an Edwardian steeple in the school grounds, and the establishment of a garden to act as a 'vehicle' for showing children the process of producing fruit and vegetables in Edwardian times.
