Wanstead Park Revealed
Location: Redbridge
The aim of the project is to raise the profile of the Park and engage with the local population by promoting a better understanding of the site.
The group will - researching the heritage of the park
- create displays and presentations on its history
- produce a DVD about the park – its landscape, features and selected re-enactments of significant events in its history using local people
- gather information about the archaeology and natural history and converting it into an accessible online database and a series of booklets
- launch the above via 4 themed events
The NBS award will provide a dedicated outreach initiative to engage local residents from ethnic minorities by recruiting community based volunteer peer ambassadors to target this sector of the community.
