Hillside Cemetery Schools' Project

The Friends of Houghton Hillside Cemetery are to work with the schools in the Houghton-le-Spring district. Visits to the Cemetery will be arranged for Year 6 and the various activities will be carried out. Colouring in books based on the historical characters will be despatched to all the children. These activities are designed to educate the children into Houghton's historical past and will in turn help to reduce future vandalism and disorder at the site.
