Heritage Walks in Alnmouth
Location: Northumberland
Alnmouth is a small coastal village within the Northumberland AONB. It has a rich and varied heritage extending over 5,000 years.
The primary aim of the project is to create a series of self guided walks in and around the historic village, based on existing rights of way, to highlight the natural beauty of the area and some of the principal sites.
Volunteers will walk potential routes identifying sites for improvement works and material for inclusion in the publications. A leaflet will be produced and circulated widely within the AONB and wider area a full colour booklet will be commissioned and a Clue Trail leaflet for younger walkers will be produced. A launch event to attract maximum local involvement will start the project and a Walking Festival in May 2007, complete with story teller, will complete the programme.
