Prudhoe Gleeman Centenary Project
Location: Northumberland

The aim of this project is to record the 100 year history and tradition of the oldest male voice choir in Northumberland, and its music, on 500 free copies of a video linking research into the history and heritage of the area.

The project will also record footage of personal memories and collect archive material of photographs. Information is being recorded on 1000 free CD Roms and in 1500 free booklets.

The Ladies Group will make a wall hanging, and a small portable exhibition will be created which will visit local libraries, schools and concert venues.

The project has also provided skills sharing with a group of 10 students from a local school and a local college course in media studies on aspects of video making. Students assisted in the filming and the video producer will talk to community groups.

Stop Press!

The Launch of the first two phases of the Project will take place on Friday 5th December 2003 at 7.15pm in Prudhoe Methodist Church, West Road, Prudhoe. Copies of the video and the Centenary Booklet will be available free of charge. All are warmly invited. Refreshments will be served.

The CD Rom will be available in mid 2004.
