How to contribute your Words Form The Wise
Location: South Tyneside
As well as the touring show, Arts Advance is keen to encourage as many people as possible to engage in the Words From The Wise project.
A series of half day reminiscence events are planned in local libraries as well as visits to community groups and displays.

The Reminiscence Booklet

We are keen to involve everyone in our project. If you are an ex-pat Jarrovian or have memories of Hebburn that you would like recorded, you can contact Arts Advance for a reminiscence booklet to complete.

Words From The Wise Reminiscence Afternoon
Venue: Hartleyburn Community Association, Hebburn.

Barry Hall from Arts Advance and local actor Harry Herring present an event at Hartleyburn Ladies Group, aimed at encouraging members of the group to record their own reminiscences. Harry will be talking about his life in entertainment, working alongside such great names as Peter Sellers and Dick Emery, to get the ball rolling.

Arts Celebration Trust
Venue: Londonderry Hall Centre, South Shields

Arts Advance will be attending another Celebration Tryst on Saturday 28th / Sunday 29th February. The theme of this event is local Heritage and is an opportunity for local groups to promote their projects and activites.

Postcards to the Future
Venue: Jarrow Library 1.00pm - 3.00pm

Jarrow Library will be the the place to write your 'message to the future' on Saturday 27th March. Arts Advance will be at the library along with entertainers Harry Herring and Tony Haxon to encourage everyone to say hello the residents of South Tyneside in 2104. All of the contributions will go into the Words From The Wise time capsule, currently being designed to contain all of the important and precious results of the project.

Venue: Londonderry Hall TA Centre, South Shields 10am - 4.00pm

Arts Advance will again be attending the very successful Arts Tryst. The event gives community groups and individuals involved in culture and the arts an opportunity to exhibit and demonstrate their work to each other and the general public. The Tryst will be another opportunity to write your 'Postcard to the Future'.

The Words From The Wise Show
Venue: Hartleyburn Community Association, Hebburn

A last chance to see the special music hall style show devised to tour around local venues. Harry Herring and Helen Russell will once again be leading the actors through the spectacular evening show which encourages the audience to think about their lives. This show has been specially arranged for the project video. Everyone is welcome and entrance is free. Show begins at 7pm.

Venue: South Shields Central Library

The Words From The Wise Time Capsule will be on display in the display case in the Central Lending Library along with an accompanying exhibition describing the last two years of the project.

Final Festival Event
Venue: Jarrow Happy Circle

The final event celebrating the Words From The Wise project will take place at the Jarrow Happy Circle on Thursday December 2nd. The event will feature entertainment and extracts from the material gathered throughout the project. It will also be an opportunity for Arts Advance to say thank you to everyone who has participated in the Words From The wise project.
