20th Century Vox
Location: Bolton

This is a two year project organised by volunteers from a range of community groups. The project is producing a social history of Bolton in the 20th century.

The main activity of the project is oral history with some video and photography.

The project is putting the archive material to creative uses that include:

  • producing exhibitions;
  • a local history booklet;
  • a community drama;
  • a local radio documentary;
  • an education pack;
  • a website;
  • a CD-ROM.
  • The overall aim is to provide a community resource of educational and historical value for contemporary and future generations.
