Capturing Waterway Skills on Film (Part 1)
Location: Cheshire

The Wheelock stables are remarkably intact and are a strong historical reminder of the horse-boating era.

The group is recording life around the stables whilst the opportunity for sharing memories and undertaking background research with the local boatmen and boatwomen still exists.

A reminiscence evening is being prepared to encourage further involvement and an exhibition is being prepared which will be held in the church.

A film is being produced to record the everyday life of the canal boat horse stables. The medium will also demonstrate the original stable furniture in practical use and show traditional painted decorations and costumes.
