Local Heritage Exhibitions, Peckforton and Beeston
Location: Cheshire

The project involved the community developing a range of activities, leaflets & 2 exhibitions - the first on local history & the second on wildlife & conservation in the Peckforton Hills.

The local history exhibition will expand on an earlier one held in 2000. New material is to be collected on the neighbouring villages, together with information on industrial heritage. It will involve local people developing an exhibition on local wildlife, habitats and conservation issues.

A large scale map will identify different habitat and wildlife sites around the area. A wildlife viewing area will be created with a new, large window to allow observation from within the hall.

A series of workshops, visits and talks on related topics will be held to explore the two subject areas. The group will produce a booklet on the natural history and industrial heritage of the area as well as a web site, CD-ROM and walk guides.
