This project is researching the background and history of Marbury Country Park. The project will begin looking at the Park's origins as a family home, through to its role as a camp for prisoners of war, then refugees, and then as a hostel for workers in the local salt and chemical industries.
The project is engendering greater local community involvement and ownership and is communicating the importance of the park locally.
Research and writing workshops, recordings and video interviews will lead to an event in the summer of 2002. A small booklet and exhibition are also being created.
Since the buildings have been destroyed, the project is ensuring that both the human and built heritage will not be lost.
