Distington Heroes Project
Location: Cumbria
To research all of the history and lives of the men and women from the Parish of Distington, Pica and Gillgarran, Cumbria, who have served in past wars in any capacity. The group wishes to record their deeds whilst the information is still within living memory and use the information to produce a book and an exhibition. A series of open days will be held to encourage people to come forward with their own memories and photos etc and a series of talks about the project will be given to a range of local organisations such as the Royal British Legion, WI, Young People’s club, day centre and Civic Society.
