Many items discovered during the project gave an insight into aspects of the heritage of the parish that have long since disappeared. This beautiful sampler refers to Haile School and is dated 1863. The existing Haile School building, now used as the village hall, was built in 1879, so the sampler showed that there had been an earlier school in the village.
