Birds of Caton
Location: Lancashire

The project will investigate, celebrate and raise awareness of the birds and habitats of the Caton area. It will seek to directly involve local people and and develop links between the school and the community.

A series of walks will ebe run for the local community about the local birds and habitats. The natural heritage of the area will be interpretated artistically by producing interpretive art works and a booklet developed during workshops for the people who participated in the walks.

The workshops will also develop a series of of parish wildlife walks with leaflets, to enable local people and visitors to the area to experience this natural heritage for themselves.

Finally a workshop about bird survey skills will be run for local people so they can learn to keep records of parish birds in the future.
