Historic Lathom Project (Phase 2)
Location: Lancashire
The Trust will undertake a survey and trench excavation of part of the Duttons Farms settlement, surveyed during the Phase 1 project, in order to answer research questions that arose during Phase 1 about the township during the medieval and post-medieval periods.
The results and the post excavation analysis of pottery finds will be used to produce a technical report and a booklet in non-technical language for local people. Trust members and other participants from the local community will benefit from training in archaeological fieldwork.
A school pack and information panel will also be produced, talks and open days held, and material placed on the web site which was set up during Phase One.
